I bought some on ebay quite a while ago, not too good. Better with a jig saw and a file.

Toolstation and Screwfix both do the 115mm thin discs for cutting ali. Go easy though, they can wear out quick.

I just use thin (1.?mm) stainless discs for cutting ally (ie discs for cutting stainless....). No probs, just don't let them jam in the cut or
they go pop (obvious really)

Why not use tin snips, quicker, more accurate, less effort, just lubricate with parafin or WD40. Definitely NOT any sort of stone disk, it will clog,
overheat and explode.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

i'm trying to cut an ali hose joiner in half, and i'm not very accurate with a hacksaw
so the really thin discs are ok for ali?
because you're not supposed to use the thicker ones are you?

Clamp a hose clip round the joiner and use it as a guide for your hacksaw. Then finish off with a file or sand paper.

That sounds the best plan to me. Great idea BTW!

Thin standard cutting discs work fine for me on ali. as said though, just be careful with it 'grabbing'.

good stuff, thanks everyone. thought there was problems with the sort of 3-4mm ones shattering, but if the 1mm discs are fine then happy days
