Best dishwasher tablets for cylinder heads?
Any preference of detergents when using the kitchens finest for cleaning engine parts?
I am told that it can make the dishwasher wiff a bit, but the head is pretty clean already.
I am trying a 70deg intensive wash with a finish 5-in-1.
Probably give it a good spray with WD40 after to prevent the valve guides corroding (everything else is alloy and the valve seats are so hard that
rust wouldn't dare).
Any other hints?

Ive always used sainsburys basics dishwasher tabs for my car parts, seem to work a treat but im waiting to see the results you get - maybe it will
come out lemon fresh 
Main hint would be, if you live with a woman, make sure she is out when you do it, otherwise, its been nice knowing you.........

If he lives with a man though Rich, there definately wouldnt be an issue using the dishwasher for car parts

I would sujest a soak in fairy liquid first if you can it softens oil deposit and parts come out cleaner.

Finish ones worked quite well on my diff. Make sure you do it early in the day so you have enough time to get all the old oil out before she finds
out, mine stank for ages of diff oil.

I got permission first from the dear lady!
No, I couldn't believe it either. I had to cook supper, but not too much of a hardship.
I had already given it a bit of a soak, and it seems to have come up nicely, and the dishwasher doesn't seem too smelly.
Interestingly it has etched it slightly, as there is region where it has been welded which is clearly a different colour now, I had got it skimmed and
that wasn't obvious before. I guess the weld is a different alloy to the main head. It seems to have helped clear the deposits in the
waterways. So, pretty successful.
Not sure my marriage would stand up to washing a diff though. That oil properly stinks.
I am hoping that I have set a precedent.

Ive been using the dishwasher to clean my parts for years
The first one was a gt250 suzuki engine, in about 1997
problem with that one was the engine was complete with heads barrels the lot, but at least it was clean on the outside!!
I did get caught out though by my Mother, as we had left tyre marks on the kitchen floor, so she knew the bike had been in the kitchen, and then all
the truths came out, From my SISTER!!
Dishwashers are good for cleaning
Ovens are good for baking paint, in fact my bonnet bulge will be in the oven monday, while Jan is at work, as the two pack paint hasnt gone off yet
what gas mark does any one recomend ? not to hot as its fiberglass
hahahahaha
