What do we think of Clint's welder?
200 A AC/DC TIG for £ 600 
and
175 A MIG for £ 400
Watched the vid. and the MIG looks well put together and not have the cheapo MM fittings - seems a very good price to me. And as for the TIG, seems
v. low price for what it is.

I've done some research on AC/DC TIGs, and I'm going for the R Tech, similar price, and many people on here reccomended them.
Just got to squirrel a little more cash away that SWMBO doesn't know about.... saves a lot of ear ache

Anyone know if its chinese or not? I presume so at that price - the R Tech at that price level is 170A isnt it?
Seems reasonable value but I'd still go for a chinese machine from Cut-40 (therefore has been inspected and carries a guarantee) as I think
their duty cycles are better than that one quotes and I think they're cheaper. They come with a more robust looking pedal too.
The 200A R-tech is probably the one I'd go for if my chinese one gives up but they're closer to 1k.

I have the R-Tech 170 amp and am very happy with it aand also their aftercare, i had some issues to begin with and one of the techs even gave me his
mobile number so i could call him over the weekend when i was up the workshop

The Eastwood is only $700 (£466) if you buy direct from thier website - if you can persuade them to ship overseas you could save some cash......?

Both machines are chinese with different logo stickers than originals.
I've got a WSE200p for portable work, had it for three years now, and it performs well. No problems to date.
Get one with a foot pedal if you're going to go this route.

When you say portable work, are you using it for actual work use or personal? Just wondering how much abuse its seen? AC too? Just interested to see
how well they hold up. Mines over 2 years old with 99% AC work at 175-200A.

£466 + Import Tax + UK VAT = £614
Then you have to add on the shipping (also subject to taxes) which is unlikely to be less than $150. You'd be almost a couple of hundred quid
down by the time a US sources one landed on your doorstep.

It gets used, whether work of personal, and it maybe gets 25hrs/month. Some months it might get 10 or more days straight, but it's always being
used, near on every day. It's just too handy and simple to grab and do 'that quick little job'.
For someone doing hobby work, the WSE AC/DC is a fair machine. I'll be giving this one to my son when I get an R-Tech.
The difference in the two is that the R-Tech has adjustable frequency on the AC, and none of the other chinese machines have that. The adjust on the
AC frequency is a must, to do decent aluminium work, although the R-tech is twice the price.

It is, but with R-Techs mods.
The ali boatbuilders around here use them, and swear by them, so they must be a good machine.
I'd still buy a Miller if I had the space again, and three phase.
