disguising cut edge of fibreglass
Morning all
Quick question for you all. If you have an exposed edge around a hole within a fibreglass panel showing. What's the best way to make it blend
with the panel? I can't use edge trim so need to colour the exposed bare fibreglass somehow. The panel is black and wondered what is the
best/neatest product to use?
I was thinking of a small pint brush and dabbing paint along the cut panel to disguise it, any better ways?

When I cut the vent apertures in the bonnet I finished the cut edges with fine abrasive and then painted the edge with clear enamel. Looks fine.

Is a "small pint" similar to a quick pint?

Use gelcoat (flowcoat) to blend it in with the surrounding black gel (assuming it is a gelcoated panel of course)... for the amoputn you need, you may
even be able to get a free sample!

To answer your Question Reman I can't use edge trim because I want to attached some folded aluminium to the rear of the cut out level with the
edges so can't have anything fouling.

Any reason you can't have an aluminium plate bonded to the front of the cutout?
