Evolution Fury circular saw blade
Dear Collective
I have need to start chop-sawing some metal for some chassis mods I want to make, and I have a question. I have a 4600 RPM wood cross-cutting mitre
saw (210mm blade, 30mm centre) - I notice evolution make a blade that cuts anything but is of a different centre.
I can turn up a thin boss to match and run the blade, but I have a question - the blades are marked as not to be run over 3000 rpm, yet my saw claims
4600 RPM as spin speed.
So, has anyone ran any of these blades in a different saw? The blade is all metal, so little risk (I think) of it coming apart and chopping my head
off, but I wonder what the risks are if I transplant it? is it just a case of blunting the blade early?

You have answered your own question
3000rpm in a 4600rpm saw = NO do not fit they put a speed ratting on the blade for a reason not for fun

i have a rage saw and agree that running its blade 50% over its rated speed could only end one way.....

You're looking at £40 for a 210mm blade on it's own, why not spend double that and get the blade and the machine to cut it on.
I own one of these and I've used it for cutting both wood and metal, works great on both, nice clean cuts too.
This is the one I have

It's not just the risk of the disc exploding.
They are designed so the cutting teeth operate at a specific speed range, outside of which they can break off or shatter.
One they're damaged and out of balance it gets worse.
ETA
Do as Roadkill say and buy the saw to go with it.
I've got the sliding version and it's superb. The only issue is how hot the shrapnel
from steel is !!!

havre to say im very pleased with mine, its done wood, platic, ali and steel so far with no bother, bought a spare blade of ebay thinking the blades
may not last but a year on its still going strong

My local B&Q have the saws for £110. It's a no-brainer. Then to off-load the chop saw.

Hmmm - after reading this thread, I hope you'll all be pleased to know that
I'm not leaving the forum.
Hopefully you'll all be pleased to know I have just come home from B&Q with a brand spankey new evolution chop saw. They're kicking
them out at £110, fairly much cheaper than I've seen them elsewhere.
So, when chopping lots of metal, i will end up with the same number of fingers and heads.
