shrinking disks
Has anyone used a shrinking disk, specifically on aluminium? Can you form to the same degree, or are they more for a little fettling? This is what
I'm thinking of

I was thinking of buying a shrinker if the type with serrated jaws, but the disk things seem better in that you can work on areas away from the edge
of a sheet.
Heres this sort:

Thanks for any help

Interesting.. Like to hear how you get on. I guess you have played around with the dollies and hammers; stretching is easy shrinking is harder! Thing
about it is I suspect careful use of local heat may do a good job as well but need more skill! You will still need to heat the ali panel in any-case
to anneal during other operations.. I have my suspicions that ali will be to soft for the disk (and pick up on to the disk coating it with ali) to
work as well as on steel, I could be wrong..

Two totally different purpose tools. The disc is a repair tool/heat shrinker for stretched metal, dents and high spots in a panel to restore a contour
in a panel. The jawstype shrinker is an edge stretching /shrinking fabrication tool for adjusting a flanged edge to hold the correct curve in a panel
while maintaining a wrinkle free flat flange.
