My Linishing belts - odd size?

I have one of these linishing machines:

linisher

The belt is 66" x 6" and therefore not that easy to get hold of (infact, that company seems to be one of the only ones who can supply). As a result the belts are £10 each which to me seems expensive?

So then I thought I could convert it (lengthen the bed) to make it a more standard size. But it appears there aren't any standard sizes longer than that?! 'standard' seems to be 1090mm.

Any ideas? Its a good machine to be fair but let down by this awkward size (though the benefit is the very long bed).

Remember reading something somewhere about a company that can make belts up for you to any length for not to much money I think it was on the DIY MIG forum?

Helpful or what!

Could you use a narrower belt. 6" is very wide if used for dressing.

Dont think it really helps matters - searching for a 66" belt regardless of width doesnt seem to turn up much....

try searching for 2m*150mm. or Hermes or TAS who both make 2000mm*150 belt linishers.

http://www.thesawcentre.co.uk/abrasives-c103/sanding-belts-c121/150mm-x-2000mm-36-grit-zirconia-belt-for-tas150-linisher-pack-of-10-p726

axminster.co.uk carry 150*2250 belts for some reason.

However, thats a lot of linishing belt, so unless you are buying by the hundred I suspect that £10 each is about right.

Hugh

Contact johnt1102 on ebay and ask if he has anything in that kind of size. He is very helpful.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
