Mig Gas solenoid 220v 50Hz Required? where from?

Hi guys,

My Mig has been playing up, its not closing off the gas properly, i need a Solenoid like the one ive pictured below -

its a 220v Solenoid, 50Hz, 10Bar. - Manufactured by CEME.

Found a 230v one online, but i assume it wont work?

https://www.weldequip.com/gas-solenoid-valve.htm

Any help would be great!

Why not? same spec, just different adapters. Probably find they will swap (no guarantee, but would be a reasonable assumption)

Gas solenoids are nothing special. Honest.

not worried about the fitting, just not too up on the electrical side of things, can i use a 230v solenoid where 220v used before is the question really?

You should be fine. There tends to be that much variation in mains supply anyway, and there won't be anything clever in your mig machine to ensure exactly 220v.

Weldequip has them in a range of voltages, they are used in euro torch conversions. 220v is nominal, they handle anything up to around 240v. Have you tried a spot of oil in yours to see if it the valve sticking ?

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

The voltage tolerance is quite wide on the solenoids.

I used this.

GAS SOLENOID TO SUIT MIG AND TIG WELDERS, AND PLASMA`S CUTTERS | eBay

Make sure you install in the right direction or they'll leak. (ask me how I know)
