Which RTV ??

Just ordered the nylon pressure relief valve from SBD for the XE ( was going to make my own, but need to get cracked on with the car - I'll be taking measurements though )

I'm wanting to put a bead of RTV on the oil pump and sump gasket - what's the best RTV to use and where do I get it from ?

I've done a search, but didn't get a conclusive answer.

Loctite 598 RTV Black Silicone is the norm for sealing stuff like cam carriers where the complex joint between two precision machined surfaces requires a thin seal where precision bead is required, is a hard rather than soft grade.

The grey grade is slightly softer and more viscous it is mainly used for things like gasketless fitting of pressed steel sumps to alloy blocks.

Both are carried by most motor factors.
