se16c150 compressor gasket

The gasket on the air delivery pipe on my clarke compressor has gone. A new gasket set is 30 quid, surely I could get some gasket paper and make the one I need easy enough?
Anyone done this yet? What type and thickness do I need?

Cheers

Lot less pressure than a head gasket!

Get a selection of gasket paper off eBay, pick one out the set that looks right, hold over the hole and gently tap around the edges with the round end of a small ball pien hammer to cut the paper.

Where the bolts go through lay a ball bearing over the hole and tap to punch out the hole.

With care you can make most soft gaskets like this.

And alternative is the get a block, better a piece of glass and some fine wet and dry to get the mating surfaces really flat then smear of hylomar and lay a silk thread around the hole then tighten it's how rolls Royce used to do things years ago.

Regards Mark

Cheers Mark
Are there different types of material? I ordered a peice 0.5mm thick, but said its used on model steam engines. Steam, air, same thing lol
Others were oil and water, so wasnt sure if the pressure was up to it.
Was only 1.95 posted

Other selection packs had different thicknesses, but only mentioned oil and water

I've not been able to take the old one out yet, so I'm not sure on the space I'll be able to make without bending copper air delivery pipes too far
