Are SIP ideal range welders any good?
Since I'm now an actual welder fabricator (more on the fabricator side) for work, I'm thinking of buying some proper machines.
I'd like a TIG but that will have to wait, because I'd want AC. so looking for a good MIG
I want a high output from single phase, so 250A is probably about the upper limit, and I want an inverter machine, not a step transformer thing
I've got a halfords trade card, plus a voucher for an extra 20% off trade prices from work, I had a look to see what they have, just out of
interest and wasn't intending to want to buy anything, but saw this, which is really in the upper (limited) range of the budget

Have they sorted their wire feed issues in these machines? Any experience in them? Any good?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

the overwhelming opinion on http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/ would be NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
have a read on there, there are plenty budget machines on offer, mainly from China but i would avoid the sip name and that do look like a lot of money
for what it is.
i have a cebora, paid £20 for it about 35 years ago and still going strong

I've got a portamig 185 I got off the migwelding forum. Weldequip.
Had it for years now, have done tons of things including a 4x4 chassis and its rock solid, has never cycled out and is still on the original tip and
shroud!
