Zetec compression tester question

I've got a gunston compression tester but will not screw into the plug hole on a Zetec, it appears that the Zetec plugs are a deep seated type where the thread doesn't start at the top of the hole so thread on tester is to short, any ideas or do I need to buy another tester specific for a Zetec"

By a set that as well as as a selection of threaded adapters includes rubber cone type fittings as these are universal provided you have an assistant to crank the engine for you.

Also if you have compressor consider a cylinder leak down tester as these are more useful for identifying the cause of cylinder leakage.
