small view window
looking for ideas as there are innovative and creative people on here.
I would like to fit a small viewing window, approx. 30 x 60 mm in size to a metal case (e.g. a hifi component).
Basically make a rectangular hole, piece of glass or more likely Perspex below the hole and a frame on top, all held together with small bolts.
The hole in the frame will be a couple of mm smaller than the hole, the purpose of the frame is to hide the hole's edges which will be a bit
rough - I don't have a sheet metal punch and don't want to spend ages with a file making the hole perfect.
How can I achieve this cheaply - I am thinking along the lines of using a metal photo frame, preferably black - any better ideas or pointers to a
suitable frame?
