MIG Welder Fix

My MIG is a Sealey Mightymig 130xt and has always given me issues with the wire feed. The cure has usually been to replace the wire liner with a new plastic liner and it would be okay for a while but the problem always returned. A few days ago I welded my VIN number onto the car and it really played up. It took ages and isn't a very nice weld so I looked for yet another wire liner. I found this

Mig Welder Wire Liner 2-4 Mts White or Blue Plastic/Steel SIP,Sealey,Clarke E16

and ordered it. When it arrived its outside diameter is about 4.3mm which is a little bigger than the plastic one was so I had to drill out the torch and welder fixing points with a 4.5mm drill (4mm just wasn't enough). Its plastic outside and wire inside and is stiffer than the plasic was.
The welder is transformed. I suddenly have full control over the wire speed from slow to fast and everything inbetween. I was on the verge of buying a new MIG, not now.
I hope this may help others with wire feed problems

I've always had wire feed problems with 0.8mm wire - as such I always use 0.6mm.
May investigate this route - cheers!

My previous Clarke was a nightmare on feeding wire and the replacement SIP 150 was no better until I replaced the plastic liner with a steel one. Same result as yours. Suddenly transformed and I could weld again.

I converted my Clarke 90 to a Euro torch, what a transformation
Your route would be a lot cheaper, but the 3metre "hose" means I don't often have to drag the welder out to use it
It also means I have 3metres of wire I can't use

Steel inner is for mild steel and plastic is for aluminium welding
the plastic liner should have a steel part in the gun
