Making Dished Ends
I'm making rear shock absorber turrets for the Kitten project out of 2mm mild steel sheet. Although only specified for use with 1.2 mm mild
steel my air planisher amazingly made short work of producing a pair of 90mm dished ends that will be welded onto short cylinders that I have rolled
up.

Paul, very many thanks and thank you for your good wishes and of course mine to you. I'd like to speak to you after Christmas but don't
have your number. Perhaps you could PM it to me.
Frankly, I was amazed that the planishing hammer made any impression on the 2mm steel but it only took 15 minutes or so to raise it 10mm in the
centre. I used the hammer a lot when I was making the Lightweight and found it really useful particularly for forming pieces that were too small to
wheel. I also used it for planishing the roof. Still only £250 quid but I think Harbor Freight sell them in the States for 100$. It certainly
isn't quiet but nothing ear defenders can't cope with.

Living in a row of houses (number 3) I wouldn't last long with any noisy tools.
When a young lady moved into No1 with two young children the woman from No 2 said "It shouldn't be allowed. Kids should be kept
indoors."
Can you imagine how a planisher would go down?
