need gasket material
We got a compressor that has asthma so we have assembled the unit as it was in large bits to enable us to transport it. The head gasket is fooked so
we need some gasket material to make a new one.......WHO SUPPLYs such a thing or does anyone have any kicking around 10" x7" in
cork.

could get you some caf (compressed asbestos fibre) gasket material if that would do??

That would do the trick as it works under major heat when pumping.
Macspeedys on the road home so I will u2u him with the details. Of course I do understand asbestos and the dangers of it......Dad worked for Everite/
Turners asbestos in SouthAfrica......

I'm sure I have a large(ish) sheet of gasket paper out in the garage, will have a look this morning and find out for you.

I know you will think i am taking the p**s but i used to run Challenger tanks with gaskets made from cornflakes Boxes.
This was far better than any gasket paper we could find, But thats the british army for. Making the best of S**t Kit.

Card and paper work wonders as gaskets. With a bit of gasket sealer like Haematite they are cheap, simple and effective.
Not recommended for critical applications, but will suffice for most things.
