tapped rivets?

Is there such as thing as tapped rivets? I want to insert a threaded tube into square tubing where there is no access to the rear?

I have used rivnuts but these were the sort where you splay the end with a punch and fitted to sheet where you can access the rear.

You can get rivnuts that you insert with a tool like a pop rivet gun. If you only need to fit a few it is easy to make a toll using a ste screw, a nut and a washer . Just drill hole to suit rivnut, screw nut onto setscrew and fit washer. Screw on rivnut until setscrew is through it , insert into hole and using 2 spanners , one to stop setscrew turning the other to tighten nut until rivnut is set. HTH

02GF74 - I think the items you are referring to are called clinch nuts or something similar.

CBS do a nice little Rivnut kit to start you off for £22.50. He also stocks alloy and stainless rivnuts too.

Most industrial nut/bolt supplier do them.
Just ask for rivnuts or clinch nuts.
