spring compressors for coil overs
bit of a stupid question perhaps but what type of spring compressor should be use for col over shocks, like those on fron suspension e.g. spax? (coil
diameter is about 70 mm).
I'm visualising a plate that goes over the coil instead of hooks due to there being less space between the coils than on the turrets type as
fitted to cars.
Examples anyone?
Of is there another way?

Buy your springs short enough to go on without needing a compressor.

I didn't buy them.
So you're saying usual practise/design is that the springs an not compressed until wieght is put on them?

With mine I just wound back the adjustor ring until spring tension was released . Just make sure you have enough adjustment .

Not saying it's usual practise but when I uprated my springs I knew the old ones were a complete B****rd to get on and off as they are too small
and coiled too close together for a regular spring compressor.
So when I uprated the springs I bought 1" shorter ones which have enough room when the adjuster is wound right down to get them on and off by
hand and no need for a spring compressor.
Cheers
