making a ball joint
I have a summit rear view mirror whcih had a split placcy bit where it goes over the ball.
Tried to repair it but mafe a pigs ear so need some ideas how to fit it to the ball.
thinking of making a metal bracket with a hole but the ball is bigger than the hole so impossible to get it over that
... so if I made it in two parts, then reassemble (glue/ali wled) thay may work.
.... or a trip to the scrapies to find suitable mirror excpet I have found (yes - I bought an other summit mirror) that since mirrors are mounted
hanging form the screen, I cannot get the right adjusment for a bulkhead one.

Can you use a spherical bearing like the ones used on gear linkages etc?
Cheers,

if you got a full size summit mirror, as in shaped like a proper car one, you'll need to cut a bit of the bottom out of the socket, to allow the
stem to turn further into the mirror back. either a stanley knife, or a drill bit, and just ream it out. oh, and it's a really tight fit onto
the ball.
it does work, honest
