Welding stinless steel

Hi friends,
wich kind of gas does I have to use for welding stainless steel? May I use argon-co as I use for welding steel?
And for aly, wich kind of gas?
( I use mig/mag welder)

Hi Just joined the forum I am a welder by trade. You will need pure argon/99% for mig Cheers.

Pure argon for both stainless and aluminium.

If you want a good finish on both sides you will need to back gas, the join.
