Is it any better than the abrasive 14 inch chop saws though considering the price?
I've got a bread knife that will get though 16gauge tube
Whats it like on 50mm box with a 3mm wall?

2mm max thickness, according to the side of the box.

The "2mm" on the box refers to the thickness of the TCT blade!
Just been out to the workshop and trimmed / squared up the ends of most of the bits of steel in the scrap box
30x30x3mm steel box - no problem
30x8mm thick steel bar - no problem
Definitely need the goggles and ear protectors though!
It's even got a laser for aligning the cut.
Just got to remember the lasers aligned for the right-hand edge of the blade - for some reason I always mark and cut things the opposite hand?)

I have one of these, thats a really goood price for the UK, I paid $400 for the saw and the dedicated steel cutting blade
my steel has not arrived yet, so i haven't cut any steel with it, but it eats 5 inch fence posts for breakfast

I will have to consider one of those in future if my chop saw breaks then. Cheers

How long
do the blades last when cutting steel? Replacements are about £40 each so you would want a good lifespan for them.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I bought a Rage blade for my chopsaw. Personally I wouldn't bother. I cuts really nice and easy for about a maybe 20-30 cuts (32mm dia 1.5mm
wall tube).
After that you can ride bare ass to London on it (blunt). Then you cant cut a thing with it and it gets really inaccurate.
So I've gone back to abriasive discs. It's a bit messier, but more consistant, and a whole lot easier than a hacksaw!!
If you do use abraisive discs, remember to remove the laser and the the plastic guide slot in the base, coz they melt funnily enough.
Cheers

how do you get an abrasive disc to fit the rage saw as bore dia on the rage is 24.5 and on an abrasive its 23?? I don't think the blade on my
rage is going to last that long!
Thanks
Mike

Rage blades need to run much slower than chop saw or even normal circular saw. I think they also need more torque so they are no good as replacement
blades un less you can figure out how to slow down your chopsaw !

I've got a Rexon compound mitre saw. Rage blades are the same as all other tct blades and so are a direct replacement.
To fit an abrasive disc I leave out the spacing/cetralising washer and centralise it by eye. This is easy due to the pattern on the discs I buy, plus
even if it is out as soon as I cut a piece of metal it will wear concentric. I do give the tightening bolt an extra yank though!!
My compound mitre saw has High and Low speeds (4500 and 2500rpm)
Rage disc are the same as any other tct blade but the design/shape stops the blade digging in too quickly and so a finer cut is made. The tips
themselves are nothing special and so will blunt like a normal tct blade, just a little bit slower.
