Nut splitter 2 piece kit, with 3 pieces ???

I picked up a nut splitter set at the weekend. Never had one before but it was less than a fiver, so I got it.
It a 2 piece set, one for smaller nuts, one for larger nuts.
Plus there is a nut in the pack.
Whats the nut for? To practice on?
It doesn't look like the nut splitters have anywhere on then for the nut to go, so I'm stumped.

So, what happens when I have split the nut, used the one in the packet. Do I have to guess what nut I will split in 6 months time and order one of them?

See link here, its not just the set I bought with this nut in....

I think it's a practice nut, I got one (machine mart iirc) and could find no other use for it. IIRC it was a 'soft as cheese' nut which virtually committed suicide on the first twist of on the splitter.

Well I bought a new hammer the other day, it didn't come with a 'practice nail'

Everyone I have asked is stumped. I even sent an email to Sealey who sell them, but not had a reply. Its just bugging me what its 'really' for.

Well, I have had a reply on this from a supplier. Aparantly it IS a practice nut, but they are soon going to stop putting it in the packaging. As really whats the point in having it.
