How's your machining

Very nicely finished universal grinder. There is one thing wrong with this and it drives me crazy. Have a read of the article and see if you can tell what it is.

green bit of crap cast on the back and the crappy reused handle and scale down on the front lower left

not to sure about the recycled plastic digital read out either

they are all things that can be addressed, otherwise its pretty

Before I start, it may just be me but...
It's all very pretty etc but that is a lot of effort to make a tool that is then used to make other things.
At my age, life is too short for this sort of thing. If you identify something that needs making in a certain way then get someone to make it. That way you'll have it quicker.
As you may have guessed, the limits of my "machine making" involved welding bits to spanners and a couple of odd shaped hammers!

Have to agree that life is too short..

Also I don't have a mill so it would be a wast of time, but for a model engineer that would be a fun project!

Bench grinder does all that sharpening I need.

back in the day when i was in the tool room they where great....

now how many people re sharpen tools???

carbide inserts done away with a lot of that..





just because you are a character, doesnt mean you have character....

for all your bespoke parts, ali welding, waterjet, laser, folding, turning, milling, composite work, spraying, anodising and cad drawing....
