modifying bulk buy tig pedal
Has anybody that bought the bulk buy tig sets from a couple of years ago on here (or similar) Modified the foot pedal to have more adjustment so its
not so powerful when the switch kicks in?

I did have a play about with mines as I felt it was a bit tofine tuned and I found it sometimes did not switch off when released. It works fine now
mind you.
I'm not sure what you require but I doubt you could alter its current control characteristics. If thats what you are trying to do??
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

At the mo its 0-200amps through the travel of the pedal, id like to be able to use it as 0-50 sometimes for example. My dad thinks its possible with
another potentiometer in series, but just wondered if anyone had actually done it succesfully first. I dont think it actually switches on at 0 either
which is a bit tricky on thin alloy.

dunno what welder you are using, but my tig set, the main power control, is still in use when using the pedal
main power sets full power for the pedal

I'd agree I got the young lad to read the scale while using the pedal. I think from memory the lowest i could get it without it cutting out was
40 ish

You set the amps on the unit and the pedal will only go as high as this. Your base current is a percentage of the maximum so it should not drop to 0
unless you set it to 0.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Ill double check at the weekend, but im pretty sure the main current control has no effect when the foot pedal is plugged in. I know it does do on
some machines, but i dont think these ones do. Thanks
