Tool storage crates for loft
Following on from this post:

I want some crates within which to store tools on wall shelves in the loft. They need to be strong enough for all the DIY type stuff (plumbing,
woodworking, decorating, electrics and materials.
But also up to being transported around as I do a lot of property maintenance at parents, Mil, friends etc.
Also the loft hatch isn't that big so need to take care there and that too big crates may be so heavy I won't be able to get them in and
out.
Any suggestions of good crates at a reasonable price? Googled and there's hundreds of options so just want some guidance on buying the right
thing.

Will probably go clear plastic so I can see what's in there easily unless clear plastic means they're inherently weaker or something!

The ones with the interlocking lids are bloody good, I have a couple in my garage full of heavy items. I would not trust the clear ones as they tend
to be thinner and flimsy.
EDIT TO ADD: put labels on the outside so you know whats inside.

i heard a rumour you can usualy find some very good storage crates behind your local branch of halfrauds, also very cheap if no ones looking

I've got a load of toughcrates. Pick them up when I go to CostCo.
Taken everything I've thrown at them so far - including power tools, car parts, piles of paperbacks, camping supplies, matchbox cars etc etc.
Not broken one yet - and I regularly throw them into the loft; dropped quite a few, too....

We have A LOT of stuff delivered from tesco at work.
Those green or blue boxes are very good apparently

Really Useful Boxes !
Have been using them in my van for about 6 years! Have broken one lid in that time! I use them for carrying switches, sockets, knock out boxes etc
etc! Buy them from Makro, cheapest I have found and I cannot recommend them enough! all sizes available!

You pop in to the desk normally located right near the main entrance, pay your membership for the year. They take your photo and give you a
membership card which you show each time you visit.
