Castle nut proportions???

Hi all I ordered some M27 x 1.5mm castle nuts the other day with the hope that they would have arrived by today sadly they haven't.

I need to drill the spilt pin holes in some stub axles before tomorrow when im taking them to have the threads cut. If id had the nuts i would have just measured them to see the depth of the castle section but since they are not here i cannot do that so my question is...

are there standard proportions for castle nuts???

Example the nuts i have ordered are 30mm high is it lightly that 20mm is the fully nut with 10mm of castle or something to that effect???

thanks tilly

These are the nuts in question in case by some mirical someone has bought some in the past

Would be far more sensable to get the threads cut, then once you have the nuts put them on and drill the shaft then, thats how I have done it in the past. HTH Ray
