Help Please - Suspension Software etc.

Time to draw on the knowledge of the IT boffins on the site!
I have always set suspensions/chassis up the old fashioned way. I now would like to try some software packages for suspension, chassis design etc.
I have seen ADAMS but have no idea of cost or how it ranks.

All constructive advice welcome (free software even more so)

Can anyone advise / help? I've seen some posts that indicate a few guru's here?

cheers

U2U me if you want a copy of "suspen.exe" & I'll mail it to you tonight. Use at front or back to fix your roll centres (sorry syd....)
I used solidworks 3d modelling to make sure nothing touches over suspension travel - worth it I reckon.
cheers

I've used SusProg3D (www.susprog.com) for the design of my suspension. Its a bit quirky at first, but excellent once you get used to it. Cost me about £90 a year or so ago, with the exchange rate should be cheaper now.

There's a nice free program called Wishbone available for download at Race Tech Magazine:

http://www.racetechmag.com/index.asp

You'll need MS QuickBASIC to run it (U2U me if any questions about this). The program has a lot of features; I like to set up with it, then switch over to the Suspen proggie that Bob mentioned for interactive modeling.

SusProg3D is an excellent program, and you can try for free, IIRC. However, the freebies do geometry well enough, and are a lot of fun
