Spray finishing 'carbon' vinyl

Time and circumstances dictate I am going to have to cheat and do a vinyl wrap on my transmission tunnel top until I can get round to doing the real thing. Material looks fairly convincing at first glance but compared with the real carbon seats next to it there is a lack of gloss. I think I have read somewhere that you can spray finish vinyl with clear lacquer. Anyone tried this? I have some offcuts to check with but won't waste my time if it is a no go. Any advice/experience? TIA.

Mine pealed like a Scottish bloke after a Ibiza holiday when overspray hit my wing guards which are carbon wrap 3m.

Yeah, that won't really work. You can get 3m vinyl that has the gloss to it, if you fancy redoing it with that for now instead?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!
