Automotive Tool Hire

Hi All

Is there anywhere you can hire automotive tools. I am after a camshaft locking kit for my Fiat Punto HGT. I can buy one for £100. But I will only need it for about 2hrs. I have to change the Timing belt and the inlet camshaft Variator. Fiat want £450 to do the job.

Thanks Carl

Don't go to Fiat!!

If you want a good job doing and aren't worried about doing it yourself contact Powerfiat - they are based in Essex but just opening in Leeds, weekend only to start with.

Roger of Powerfiat specialises in Fiat Coupe's, changing hte cambelt and all associated bits for £399 instead of the £1400 Fiat charge. He will work on any Fiat and has a great reputation - I was certainly very happy with the way he did my cambelt. www.powerfiat.co.uk

Sorry, but I don't know where you can hire specialist tools in Yorkshire. It may be possible to do the job without it though.

Thanks for that. If it was just the timing belt I would do the job without the locking tool, But as I have to work on the inlet camshaft and variator I feel the need to lock things down. If I buy the tool the job will only cost £200 against £450 at FIAT (Fix It Again Tommorrow).
