need gasket material

We got a compressor that has asthma so we have assembled the unit as it was in large bits to enable us to transport it. The head gasket is fooked so we need some gasket material to make a new one.......WHO SUPPLYs such a thing or does anyone have any kicking around 10" x7" in cork.

I'm sure I have a large(ish) sheet of gasket paper out in the garage, will have a look this morning and find out for you.

I know you will think i am taking the p**s but i used to run Challenger tanks with gaskets made from cornflakes Boxes.
This was far better than any gasket paper we could find, But thats the british army for. Making the best of S**t Kit.

Card and paper work wonders as gaskets. With a bit of gasket sealer like Haematite they are cheap, simple and effective.

Not recommended for critical applications, but will suffice for most things.
