etam gim (mig mate in reverse)
any body now how to reverse the wiring on a sip mig mate been told it produces better results when going gas less but dont have the foggy-ist how to
do it??
a wee piccy would be great if theres one available should stop me from getting the wrong end of the stick

Have u not got the instrucitions???
Dam it cant find mine. It says in there.
IIRC although i stand corrected. Theres the connector in under the cover where the wire goes. I think u swap this with the one inside the other
cover so the polarity goes the other way through the torch if that makes sense.
Im sure google will supply the correct info.

I cannot see how this works in practice, from memory the negative connection melts at a higher rate, the ratio is something like 75/25, so with TIG
welding the torch is +ve so the tungstun erodes slowly.
For MIG & MMA the electrode is -VE as you want the feed wire/rod to melt in to the work. I believe you only reverse the polarity if you are
welding really thick material and need to build heat. As such not desirable for anything you would find on a locost, Id leave it alone !

My welder (not a sip) has a different socket for the earth when using gasless but it just cuts out the solenoid for the gas feed and doesn't
reverse the polarity. You would have to disconnect the torch and swap the wires over to do that.
