You could try grinding a taper and some slots into a HT bolt - will work just as well

As per Fred's reply,
Hacksaw a couple of slots onto the end of a bolt, should be enough just to clean paint out....
Now you've got to try and find an M18 bolt

Oh right, thats an idea!
I tried running a blade down as far as I could (yeah, I know) but the powder seems to have stuck quite well!
IF I can find a bolt I will give it a bash - if not looks like its £20 down at Cromwells on the way home!
Cheers!

I'll get one in the post tomorrow Geoff, just cover postage. The bolt idea is fine but you'll need to get started, and p/coat is pretty
tough. No hurry to get it back to me. U2U me an address.

Buy yourself a spark plug chasing tool, M14 one end M18 the other and just grind the nut in the middle down a bit. It worked for me, you can get them
at most car parts shops or machine mart
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I tried the sparkplug chaser idea but it didn't work quite well enough for the balljoint thread - does anyone have a M18 x 1.5 mm tap that they
could sell/loan me please?? I've tried everywhere local to me and the workshops where i work but to no avail.
Cheers
