second hand mig

Just going to look at a second hand
Snap on mig 135 turbo welder for £100
bloke says about about 5yrs old excellent working and with wire, Hardly used.

know nothing about welders but seemed a good price, what should i look for?
or is better to go machine mart and get the same clarke model.

my clark one has performed well for about 2 or 3 years now, its finally getting old and needing care and attention (torch fiddling). £100 is nice and cheap, but it is 5 years old. I suppose it depends on the condition and quality of the tool.

I would say that £100 is a bit steep, as you can get a brand new 130 for a bit more complete with warranty (and no wear & tear) A 130 amp model is the smallest you would get away with for any serious work and you might even consider going up a notch.

Agree with RazMan. I bought a 130 & really wish I had gone higher now. If you're getting your first Mig, make it a 150 at least.

Ignore the Snap-On name, it will be a Cebora in disguise

bought the weld good condition, bloke was a ex rally driver,

it is the same as this one that just went for 170 so not bad i thought

a bird in the hand ect , look try it out before you buy it if it welds ok and YOU are happy with it then buy it we are after all mainly welding pretty light gauge steel
