Starting time?
Wayhay - It's early Sunday morning, family have plans, and I get the whole day in the garage.
When do people reckon is it okay to start with the angle grinding, if I want to stay on good terms with the usually friendly neighbours?
I know what I do, but what do others think?
Cheers

I do most of my work at my mother's place so I don't have to worry about the neighbours
8am start on saturday, 9am on sunday, if possible inside to minimise disturbance

i wouldnt dream of grinding before 10am weekends, or 9am weekdays, or after 10pm any day. In fact, i wouldnt even have the compressor on. Good
neighbours are to be treasured and respected, once you've had bad neighbours you will understand.

I use my Missus as a guideline for late night work (post 9pm).
If she can hear it in the house with the window open, I don't do it...
Good news is she can't hear the compressor so long as the garage door is shut!!

My noisy work schedule is 7 am till 10 pm weekdays and 7 am till midnight at the weekend.
Don't believe in lie-ins unless I'm hung-over or completely wrecked, and I know my neighbours won't have sympathy if I am!
In return I would never complain about noise from them (and one side he does have 2 range rovers, a discovery, a lancia beta and a pretty loud
bike!)
Live and let live! If they complain, I'll keep the noise down, but we've had no probs in the 4 years and I get on with the neighbours
fine.
(Ps I know that they work days as well, if they worked shifts I would obviously be considerate to that fact!)

.............................note the hung over comment though............................not had many 7 am starts since my house became a "lads
house" as everybody calls it now (me, my bro and my mate live there now!)

Can't answer the question - I usually start around 10-ish, with noisy stuff at 11-ish at the earliest.
