Rental Air Products
Hello folks,
I have rented a cougar5 argon bottle PT10 for many years now, its a bottle about 8 inches diameter and about 3 foot high making it ideal for me.
Recently I have noticed the rental has gone up from less than £7/month to £12 a month, making the rental on the bottle £144 a year, this does not
include any refills. Seems on the expensive side to me anyone know the current price of boc rental
Cheers

I would query it. I have an X size which sounds similar and it is £66 per year

Just rented an argon size Y from boc last week. The prices quoted were £66 a year rental plus 44 ish for a fill and 12 ish for a handling charge.
Prices were current but the list he took them from was dated oct 06.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

ooops made a mistake. Mines is a size X as well prices here in front of me now are
Rental £51.76
Fixed charge for customer collection £12.16
Refrill of cyl £40.30
As i said price list is dated 1st sept 06 so i'll wait and see what the direct debit says when it comes in but was asssured the prices were
current.
Out of interest a size y (same as your cougar) is £66.09 rental £53.40 for a refill and £12.16 handling and holds roughly twice as mauch gas as a
Y.
Oh and are you sure the cougar is pure argon ??? I thought it was an argon co2 mix.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Air Products
I USED to be with Air Products but there prices went up so much, plus the local dealers closed and their customer service was / is awful (they kept
invoicing me for products not used), that I left them. BOC are much cheaper.
I tried to give Air Products the chance to match BOC but they wernt interested.

Air Products has taken all franshises away from local businesses (in a very unpleaseant way!!!) - "We're not supplying you any
more."
Our local chap was great, delivered within 4 hours of order etc etc.
We were gonna change to BOC, but they tried screwing us a few years ago
"Er, Price has gone up, I'm afraid"
"Er, Price has gone up, I'm afraid"
"Er, Price has gone up, I'm afraid"
"Er, business now elsewhere, I'm afraid!"
so we now use a different supplier for Air Prods.

Hello,
Cougar5 is an Argon mix with 5% of something else, it's recommended for MIG use
On my bottle it has X10S
People who are quoting rentals, are you all BOC?
Anyone have an air products account?
Cheers

Yes I'm BOC and I'm quoting prices for pure argon for tig welding. If it's mig gas youre looking for I'd imagine it's
cheaper than pure argon.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Hello,
Just phoned Air Products, they were very helpful, they will refund the differences from my old £6 a month and £12 a month contracts for however long
that has been happening, cancelled this months billing of £12 completly, reduce my yearly rental to £68.26, £23.66 for a refil, plus vat on those
prices.
Excellent
Cheers

I am with Air Products and had no issues at all. Pure argon aint cheap but its a better price than BOC could do.
