Maplin's noise meter settings required

Evening all
I know a few of us have got the above gizmo. what settings are you running them on to check silencer

A weighting for normal noise measurements. High range for car exhausts. I use slow sampling because it averages out peaks in the noise level. I don't use peak hold because that takes the loudest noise heard and remembers it.
