in-line bleed screws

What I really want at this time on a Sunday are some in-line bleed screws. Ideally a 16mm aluminium tube with a screw thing in the middle to let the air out. I'd just cut my hose at the highest point in its run and stick one of these in with some hose clips. The problem is I can't find such a thing.

What are they properly called? Where can I get one(or 4)?

wouldn't be too hard to make them.

Just get a steel tube, weld a nut on top, drill though the middle of the nut through the tube and use a water proof washer on the bolt.

Then after all that paint it a pretty colour and your done.

Not sure of the diameter, but my dad's v6 Rover 75 has a coolant hose with built-in bleed screw....

Fiats and Alfas have them, or you can make your own with a 15mm copper plumbing T with a radiator bleed insert soldered in the spare leg.

Have a look on ebay for bleed valves in the kitcar parts section.

We use an alloy t piece for the bike installs 25mm through bore with a 9mm od spur for a hose which we tap out 6mm and fit a cap head with copper washer onto, looks tidy and works well, got them on the shelf if any use to you
regards
Andy
just spotted you need 16mm but I think we have this size as well
