bending exhaust manifold?

let's say I have a mild steel 4-2-1 exhaust manifold that turns horizontally through 90 degree so the single pipe exits through the body work.

If I wanted to lower the exist point, how could I do this?

(the fallback solution would be to enlarge the hole in the panels upwards)

cut and weld in a new section of tube? even if it will only be like an inch...

or enlarge the hole, and cover it with a nice piece of polished ali or stainless steel, with the correct size and position hole, and it covers the enlarged one behind?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I looked into it as my westfield manifold didn't quite work on my locost, but every tube bender I tried said they wouldn;t bend a tube that had already been bent.

In the end I got the help of a couple of very kind souls off here who sorted it for me by cut n shut!

^^^ interesting - my initial reaction would be to attempt to heat it up then try to twist it a bit - I would be looking to move the end down by 30 mm max.

Should be possible with lots of heat. NS Dev bent his roll cage using a big burner and a simple pipe bender, can't imagine the exhaust manifold is made of thicker steel.
