weighing the car question
if i wanted to weigh the car, if you put scales under each wheel, do you just add the total up? would i need 4 sets of scales, or could i use one and
put it under a wheel at a time (as the car's going to weigh the same on scales or on the ground)
I'm just curious to know what it weighs just now, and whether my engine crane will lift the whole car in one go to put it on axle stands in the
garage

if you had one under all then yes just add them up.
I think if you were just using one youd have to compensate under the others to make the car level. If the cars at an angle the weight distribution
will change and youll get a wrong total. So just put a block of wood or something the same thickness as youre scales under each wheel.
Should do the trick

Thats right, if you just wanted to use one you would have to use a blocks of wood or similar to get the height the same as the scales. Then just add
them all up.

If the scales you want to use are near their limit, consider using two at each corner, just put a piece of wood across thenm to bridge them,
doesn't matter if the wood bends a bit, just add the two together for each corner.
Spring rather than digital usually best, due to the digital habit of resetting and zeroing

cheers guys
thought i might have to level the car up, which is fine. the main thing is, I need to do some work under the car, and want to use the engine crane to
lift the whole car to put on ramps and axle stands, otherwise some of the car stays out side the garage. on max extention it lifts 500kg. the
car's not fully built so i don't think its near that yet, but would like to find out first before i find out the hard way
