Can you buy baking soda in big boxes over here or is it an American thing, Ive only seen it in little tubs.

you must be able to buy it in "commercial" quantities....

I really like that as an idea... I wonder how much deposits and cack it would really remove..

Do we think it could lift damaged laquere and corrosion of alloy wheels?

I think there is a video on Frosts web site, can remove paint with the commercial unit.

I have a big tub from makro, can't remember how much it cost, probably a few quid for a kilo or 3.

£1.79 a kilo assuming you can negotiate postage down a fair bit.
