Is there a locost knack to bringing back old, dirty indicator lenses?

T-cut or brasso outside and used with a toothbrush inside.

Denture cleaning tablets -- picked up the tip from a Mondeo forum perfect for cleaning mk1 Mondeo inner plastic headlight lenses -- worked on the
one I tried it on which were grotty.
