Breaking PU bond?
Any easy way to part fibreglass panels that have been bonded together with PU adhesive or silicone?
Trying to take panels apart that are stuck fast with both!
Cheers,
Steve

A sharp blade is your best bet. White spirit left for a while on PU does seem to soften it a bit, but to be honest, you can just end up with a sticky
mess. If it is silicone, then 'Silicone Eater' type products from a DIY store may help...

Thin wire
Try a thin strong wire, cheese wire style and work it between the pannels with a slow sawing action

I used some locking wire - just wrap it round a screwdriver or similar a few times, to save your fingers as it cuts in.

Windscreen fitters use a cheesewire type tool to remove bonded screens . Think the kits are fairly cheap

Even with the silicone remover it's not 100%. I siliconed a normal number plate on the nose, then removed it some time afterwards, but there is
still a slightly visible outline of the silicone because you can't scrape it too much without scratching the fibreglass.
