clarke or de walt impact wrench
Hi, im looking to buy a 240volt impact wrench, i already have an air one but my compressor struggles with it. Ive decided against the cordless ones
as i guarantee it will sit in a drawer for a few months and when i come to use it the batterys will be flat! Price is always a priority, but i dont
want a cheap one that doesnt work, after all its the tightest bolts that you need them for! The two im looking at are clarke, £60 1000watts 440nm
torque, and comes with a couple of sockets for that price, but i have them anyway. De walt dw292 £120 refurbished 700 watts, 440nm torque. Im sure
the de walt will last for ever, but im not a mechanic using it everyday, its just for home use, surely the clarke will be upto the job, or are the
torque figures a lie? I know you barely ever tighten anything up to that level, but its undoing siezed up hub nuts, crank pulleys, that type of thing
where it would need big power that i dont want iot to let me down. Anybody have one? Which can you reccomend

clarke are pretty rugged, both offer the same torque, the clarke will have a 12 month warranty the dewault ?? maybe 3 months. As you state you wont be
using it constantly.
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

Both 12 month warranty, but tbh i cant imagine either of them really breaking for years, its basically the most powerful one i can afford that im
after. dont really want to have to spend £120 unless someone convinces me its that much better, on the other hand dont want to find the figures for
the clarke are like a lot of the chinese rubbish, completely made up. Also just started wondering about size too?

We have Dewalt ones at work and they are crap, forever breaking bushes and the socket retainer snaps off within minutes, the pair of them have been
repaired under warranty countless times. Avoid.
However the Makita ones are pretty good, but the Hitachi ones are the best we have.
DO NOT PUT ON KNOB OR BOLLOCKS!
