Sliding Compound Mitre Saw
Hi All,
Not exactly car related, but I'm looking for an accurate but "value" saw. Any ideas?

how accurate do you need? I find the sliding saws to have some wobble no matter how well made. I just use a normal chop saw with a good blade to avoid
the need for a sliding function.

Most Dewalts and Makitas saws are good, i have the Dewalt slide and tilt but it did cost near £600 and not a hint of wobble. You do get what you pay
for i'm affraid.

As roadrunner says you tend to get what you pay for with these things. Used other folks cheapo ones and tend to be pretty ropey. We have a Makita
LS1214/2 for work which is a fantastic bit of kit which has worked hard for about 7 years and no problems. Only thing is that these are also about
£600

Last year I bought one of the Evolution Rage sliding saws and have to say I'm
very impressed.
Does exactly as it says on the tin !
Steel, wood, ali etc and accurate enough too. £180 well sent IMO

Yep another vote for the evoloution rage saw's
Although not entirely convinced about cutting lots of steel with it though.
Good enough to mitre all the skirting,architrave and all the kitchen trim.
