smal volume simple steel fabrication required

This seems to be the most appropriate section for this request so here goes.......

I am looking to get a small quantity of metal items fabricated and i dont have the equipment to do it myself, i could make them but it would take ages!

It is essentially a bit of 2mm thick wall unequal box section say 50x30mm cut to length at 625mm with 4 holes(2 different sizes drilled in it at critical spacings.

2 of the holes have a captive nut tack welded inside them (they are near the tube opening so easy to get at.

The bit i couldn't do is that alont its length of 625mm it is cut at a taper from the full 50mm down to 30mm at the other end. This would need the use of a band saw i guess in order to do it accurately and quickly.

I would require approx 60 of these making and i am looking for suggestions of anywhere to get these done, any reccommendations based on your experience, good quality and value for money??

Any locoa engineers / fabrication company should be able to do it and probably glad of the work.

Get looking for laser cutters. It should be within their scope to do it then get someone to weld the nuts in or do it yourself.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Find a local laser company that does tube cutting, this is exactly the kind of thing these machines are made for. They would cut the holes and the taper to a high tolerance.

watch this video....

And you'll get the idea.

Kind regards

Go to a local engineers shop and get it all done at the same time: cheaper that way.
