Looks ok, as long as you dont need any after sales service, but for £39 if you get 12 months out of it, you've had your £'s worth.

Yep... it is fundamentally flawed - it is cheap Chinese sh*te and by buying it you contribute to the further collapse of our industry and economy.

But apart from that... I'm sure it will do a job - at least fro a while!

But if we can't build one in the UK and flog it for three times the price of that one, then its a sad situation.

I do agree with you Scootz, but if we can't do better and compete.......

We can't do better and compete because we won't (quite rightly) pay our workers a pittance to work in atrocious and unsafe conditions to make an inferior product using inferior materials.

It's the same with farming / fishing... buy foreign to save a few pence.

We've never been so well off, yet we ignorantly support the destruction of our industries in the pursuit of shaving off a few quid on the weekly shop.

Come on people of Britain... we're an island nation FFS... we're destroying our ability to be self-sufficient (something we may have to rely on HEAVILY one day should we find ourselves in a fight... particularly farming and fishing!).

Stop buying foreign rubbish and buy local!

its the same as the one on my WSE200 which is an excellent machine that cost pennies in comparison to the UK ones.

on a side note and in response to scoots, its more to do with decades of very poor government decisions and policy that has led to the destruction of our industry.

chinas impact has been a very recent thing in terms our economic failures, we could look all round the world and point the finger of blame but we need to look in the mirror.

Yep - agreed, but you'll notice that my rant was mainly directed at those of us who add to the damage caused by the ongoing national mismanagement by buying poor-quality foreign goods just for the sake of a small financial saving! The long term implications of this is horrendous on so many levels.

Like I said - we've never been more financially comfortable, yet we still buy on the basis of a small saving. Couple that to the fact that we are a disgracefully wasteful society then it makes our personal culpability even worse. You can't solely blame a Government(s) when our apathetic actions contribute to the whole sorry mess

Personally, I couldn't care less what tat the chinese put on the market... that's up to them, but buying their products does nothing to help.

I know... I'm ranting, but this one really irks me!

IMHO

For me the only way to go is a water cooled torch.

A duty cycle of 35% @ 130a (ish) is not good.

I can just see myself trying to explain to a customer that although the job is only an hours welding
I've got to charge for three hours as I have to keep stopping to let the torch cool down.

Cheers
