Even being in the trade, I couldn't justify buying one untill there was an offer from one of my suppliers for a gun and 20 stretch boots. Woked out almost as cheap as just the boots so I got one. Brilliant bit of kit. It could diffinatly do you some harm though if abused.

Both are available. I prefer the specific fit ones as the moulding fits the lips/grooves on the joint better and are more secure, but in most cases universal ones work ok.

PS. why are you all being so squimish about trapping your fingers in one?

Been thinking about one of these - £80 on ebay. Spent ages the other day getting a dshaft to bits to fit a new boot. Almost would have paid for itself!

For occational use get a cone tool and some rubber grease. It' makes more sense if you only do the odd one. Easy enough to fit a DuraBoot (stretch) with one; just remember to turn it inside out first or you'll end up with the boot facing the wrong way.
