Zx9r baffled sump?
Just wanting some advice, car is being used mainly on the road with the occasional track day on full slicks. Would it be wise to baffle the sump or is
it deemed not necessary?
Should i get the sump shortened also as it protrudes quite far out and is the lowest point on the car!

I wouldn't shorten your sump, they usually hang down quite low, say 125mm. I've had 2 cars both with zx9r engines, they are fantastic
simple power plants. I have a brand new, unused baffle plate from Fluke motorsport if you want it? I have two brand new kawasaki gaskets with which to
sandwich it. Additionally i also have a a brand new, still boxed EBC kevlar clutch kit.

If you cut the drop down part of the sump you will have to relocate the drain plug and shorten the pick up as well. It will give you better clearance
and help fitting into the chassis though.

I did mine , just for peace of mind. It's not baffled and I have had no issues so far.
If you do cut down your sump, just slightly over fill with oil to compensate for lack of volume in your new sump.

I will have to think more about the shortening of the sump.
What's the opinions on a baffle plate though?

I bought your black zx9 powered motor. One of the first things I changed was to put a baffled billet sump on. Round here we have some of the narrow
speed bumps and the sump would land on them every time.
So my advice would be if you are using it on the road chop it.

I bought a spare engine which someone had been building to a high spec and then gave up. So I got it for a song, a bit lucky really.
I believe these guys do one for about £190 Cliky Clicky
I am sure there are others, someone here will know.
