Kitcar workshops.
OK, I know this goes rather agianst the Locost mantra and doing everything yourself, but I just dont have the time/space etc to do it. Would also
like the job done asap rather than me making half ass'd efforts that will take months.
So, are there places you can go to who will do mechanical changes on your car ? I would really like to drop the Pinto and go for a Zetec or Duratec.
I was curious if there are business's around who will price this up and do it for?
The nearer to Bedford/Milton Keynes the better really

me too
Further down the line i would like to upgrade to zetec, i dare say there are places that do it as i guess its not to hard a job with the access our
cars have to engine bay etc.
Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Problem with going pinto to zetec is the manifolds are on opposite sides, have you considered somehting more exotic say S200 or Duratec as the
manifolds are the same sides as the pinto.

Allied Motosport in Peterborough?
Just done some work for me and very good they are too.
But to be honest Pinto/Crossflow to Zetec is not the most difficult engine swop in the world, even I did it.

powerspeed in Ashford swapped neils cross flow for a zetec, they did everything start to finish. made a good job of it and did it in reasonable time
too. I don't think its a case of who is closest. it would rather take the car miles and know its going to be done correctly and on time for the
agreed price.

This is part of the reason that I went from Pinto to N/A cossie... bonnet airfilter holes and exhaust.

Cheers Guys,
I will ask a few places for prices etc.
What I would like is a Zetec, quick steer and a More suitable dash layout (lose the Sierra dash).
Failing that it would be good to buy everything in one go and fit myself. It seems there are so many little bits and pieces needed to make it all fit
(I have no wleding skills either if required).
Failing this, I guess I could look at selling mine and buying one already done. MAy be cheaper than paying labour etc for the work to be done.

I've farmed quite a bit out to specialists over the years. In terms of welding work, I'd be tempted to find a local fabricator who is
interested enough to do it. My other advice is leave nothing to chance. Once you've discusssed the project and got their thoughts on how best
to do it, be clear about exactly what it is that you want done and emphasise that there should be no deviation unless you ok it first. This might put
some people off, but the reality is that you don't want them doing the job anyway.

My Daughter has taken over production of the damn fine Triton race seats and her contact email is emmatrs@live.co.uk.

I went from CVH to Zetec last year, a buddy who runs a garage on the Isle of Wight did the work and sourced the engine (Focus write off) and an
excellent job he did too. If you want his number let me know.
Alternatively if you want someone closer to you, have a word with Northampton Motorsports, not surprisingly in Northampton, I'm sure
they'd do it.
But I hope you don't think it's going to be a cheap job. Mine all in came out at just under £2.5k
