Fantastic service from BOC
Changed over to Hobbyist Discount and am delighted with the deal they are offering - nearly twice the gas for half the price on Argoshield Light.
Great customer service too.
Cheers!

You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a

Yes, details please?! I've not heard of this. Do they do Argon? I'm paying Air Products £120 a year just to have my bottle and £100 to
refill it!

I use Adamgas link
Had my bottle for well over 2 years, depending on where people live it might work out cheaper, as the argonshield bottle is quite small.

Just got a bottle of pureshield filled last week and it's gone up in price a fair bit since last fill. I'll need to look into this hobby
thing as well then. Thanks for the heads up mate.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Strontium Dog if it's any consolation, I'm paying the same as you for pure Argon from BOC. Unfortunately they do not extend their
"Hobbyist" discount to us TIG welders.

Just got an email back about this, they are very happy for me to use the offer on the size Y (after i said i had a size x) but am asking if its
available for the size X as for portable welding 40kg is just a bit big, fine if you garage based all the time, but if im out welding the boat or
taking it to a friend to do a job. The welders only 11kg!

Did some sums. Clearly a good saving in the hobby discount.
Great shame you cant get the 19kg size X as it goes really well with my little portable inverter mig and its a lot lighter to carry around when doing
odd jobs on the boat and around the place but im thinking im might lump it with the 40kg size y for a £100 a year cost saving!
